A 25-year-old man from Gżira appeared in court yesterday accused of burgling six houses and making fraudulent use of a credit card.

Matthew Camilleri was also accused of breaking the conditions of previous court sentences. He was refused bail.

The burglaries were carried out in September and October in Mosta, Sliema, Naxxar, Attard, Birkirkara and St Julian’s, with the hauls running into several thousand euros. He also allegedly made fraudulent use of a Visa card at an ATM, stealing €750.

He pleaded not guilty.
