With very rare exceptions that only prove the rule, gays and lesbians are not a persecuted minority in Malta. The LGBT lobby is aggressively on the warpath in its quest for an identical status with the genuine traditional heterosexual marriage that truly serves the natural reproductive purpose of propagating the human race and bringing up innocent children, during their formative years, in the natural heterosexual family environment.

Politicians must not allow themselves to be stampeded into rash constitutional amendments that, in addition to the praiseworthy aim of eliminating unjust discrimination where it exists, would also subversively interfere with the legitimate right of all to practise the religion of their choice. This is what would happen if State laws were to be introduced that interfere with the right of religions to freely choose their priesthood without outside imposition from unbelievers.
