Already assured of their first ever Winter League title prior to yesterday’s match, Marsascala Mor€ kept a clean sheet after five outings when they edged past a battling Otters Nivea, winning 7-6.
The southerners’s next objective now is to complete their pre-season competition with a perfect slate.
Otters, however, came very close to denting Marsascala’s one hundred per cent record after they fought back from a 6-2 deficit in the third session to come within a single goal from drawing level.
The leaders had six scorers on their list whilst for the losers, who had veteran Adrian Cachia in goal, the other old warhorse John Paris netted a hat-trick.
