While welcoming the stable economic outlook and the ‘A’ rating credit rating agency Fitch gave Malta, the Chamber of Commerce yesterday warned the country should not become complacent.
It said Malta’s future economic prosperity depended on courageous political decisions and necessary reforms.
July’s decline in industrial production and the drop of six places in Malta’s competitiveness in the latest World Economic Forum report were of concern, the Chamber said.
It also urged the government to shed light on a claim made in the EU Commission’s report that Malta’s eventual connection to the European Gas Network would result in further price reductions for households and businesses.
