Wasteserv chairman Benedict Farrugia had an annual honorarium of €17,305.20, as of last February. His other benefits included a car allowance of €14,653.50 and an average communications allowance of €1,000 a year.
The information was given by Environment Minister Leo Brincat in reply to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Chris Agius.
Cabinet ministers gave details of the emoluments of other board members in replies to questions by Mr Agius.
The chairmen of the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta, Ray Fenech and Louis Farrugia respectively, received €16,305 each. Their board members were given €3,494.
Malta Conference Centre chairman Peter Fenech received €13,975 a year, with board members getting €2,795 each.
At Heritage Malta, chairman Joe Said, vice-chairwoman Isabel Vella and member Leonard Callus did not receive any remuneration, while other board members picked up €582.34 quarterly.
At Transport Malta, chairman Mark Portelli received no remuneration. Deputy chairman and members Jonathan Vella, Lino Vassallo and Simon Vella received €13,976 a year for also filling the posts of chairmen of the Road Transport Supervisory Committee, the Aviation Supervisory Committee and the Land Transport Supervisory Committee respectively.
Mr Portelli also serves as chairman of the Maritime Supervisory Committee, again unpaid.
