The Hohenzollern Bridge in Col-ogne, Germany has become the bridge of lovers. Tourists and locals alike chain a padlock to the fence and throw the key in the river Rhine.

“The bridge is one of the most important railroad bridges in Europe and I think it is so symbolic. You can travel whereever you want but your heart and your love stays here with the one you love”, according to a couple.

The new fashion of fixing love locks on a bridge probable came from Italy to the Rhine metropolis.

When the trains cross the bridge, the bridge starts swinging and it feels a little bit like a heartbeat... Pompom, pompom, pompom. The swinging is so strong, that it is hard to keep the cam steady.

In the beginning the railroad company used to clean the fence and throw those padlocks away. But now they leave them there. Now, more and more padlocks in all sizes are chained to the fence as an symbol of endless love.

Some of the padlocks are engraved, others are decorated, some are old and rusty but are still there.
