Xlendi bay in Gozo will once again lend its idyllic charm to the Gozo Ceramics Festival which returns for the fourth edition this Saturday from 7.30pm onwards.

The best ceramic artists will be at work, showcasing their ability to use different building techniques including coiling, slab building and modelling sculptures.

Master thrower Michael Ciappara will once again demonstrate the ever-fascinating throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Ready-made ceramics and fine crafts will be on sale directly from the makers.  However, more than buying ready-made pieces, everyone, be it young or not-so-young, will be given the opportunity to try their hand at creating their own piece.

A ceramic art exhibition by Gozitan ceramists Victor Agius, Brandon Buttigieg, Melanie Cassar, Catherine Formosa, Nadia and Paul Haber and Paul Scerri at the St Patrick’s Hotel will complement the festival.

The cascading rocks which embrace the limpid waters of Xlendi will be lit up by flaming torches (fjakkoli) and the ambience will be further enriched by the music of D Capital Live Band.
