Esplora, the Interactive Science Centre, is to open its doors to the public in 2016, following a trial period planned for late next year.

The €26 million project, partially funded by the EU, is run by the Malta Council for Science and Technology and seeks to change the mentality that science is too difficult.

The centre will be located within the Villa Bighi Complex in Kalkara, on 22,000 square metres of land, and will include a planetarium, exhibition and interactive spaces, a café and retail outlets.
