The opposition motion censuring Carm Mifsud Bonnici for the way he ran the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs starts this morning and discussion will take nine sittings.

Announcing the agreement at yesterday’s sitting, government whip David Agius said that the discussion would start morning and continue tomorrow evening and Friday morning.

The House would hold six sittings next week: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, both morning and evening.

The vote would be taken at the end of the sitting on Wednesday evening.

The motion, which was presented last December, criticises Dr Mifsud Bonnici’s handling of the Justice Ministry and for not moving much needed reform. Opposition leader Joseph Muscat had indicated the motion would be amended to call for Dr Mifsud Bonnici’s resignation.
