Santa Marija feast is celebrated at the Cathedral in Victoria on Thursday. Tomorrow, the Leone Band and Beland Band of Żejtun will hold band marches in Victoria at 9.30pm, followed by fireworks. The statue of Our Lady leaves St James parvis at Independence Square on Tuesday at 10pm, accompanied by the Leone Band, followed by ground fireworks in Republic Street, Victoria.
The Cathedral Chapter concelebrates Mass on Wednesday at 8am, followed by a children’s Mass at 10am with the Exsultet Youth Group. The Leone Band will perform a march from the parish centre to the Cathedral at 5.30pm.
The translation of the relic will be held at 6pm, followed by pontifical vespers. At 8pm, Archpriest Fr Joseph Attard celebrates thanksgiving Mass on the 38th anniversary of the crowning of the titular painting of the Assumption. The Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis will take part.
The Leone and La Vallette bands will play marches along Republic Street at 9.15pm, followed by a ground fireworks display at Savina Square.
On Thursday, Bishop Mario Grech will concelebrate pontifical Mass with the Cathedral Chapter at 9am. The 12th May Band of Żebbuġ, Malta, and the St Joseph Band of Ħamrun will play marches at 11am.
Horse races will be held at Republic Street, Victoria, at 2.30pm, followed by marches by the Leone Band from the parish centre to Cathedral Square at 6pm. The procession with the statue of Our Lady will start at 7pm. The Leone Band, Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis and Cathedral Youth Choir will take part.
There will be a fireworks display at 10pm, followed by a band march by the Leone Band from the Cathedral parish centre to Independence Square at 11pm.
