Laura Sarti is a noted recitalist and has students all over Europe.

Mezzo-soprano Laura Sarti will be delivering a four-day intensive classical singing course next week, which will be followed by a recital by the course participants at the Sala Isouard on November 29, at 8pm.

A noted recitalist, both in her own right and as part of the Benvenuto Duo, formed together with soprano Clare Walmsley and accompanist Paul Hamburger, Sarti built a reputation for innovative recital design.

A professor and Fellow of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama since the 1970s, she has developed an international reputation as a teacher and regularly gives masterclasses in Britain, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Germany and Portugal.

She has students all over Europe and many have subsequently gained acceptance in advanced courses at leading conservatories. Her pupils appear with leading national and international opera companies as well as pursue careers in concert and recital.

Sarti combines long years of vocal teaching practices with extensive performing experience in opera and is especially known for her insight into the Italianate, French and Spanish styles and repertoire.

The public is welcome to observe the masterclasses for free on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm to 9pm in Sala Isouard.
