Hundred years ago, on March 25, 1918, French composer Claude Debussy passed away, leaving behind him a musical legacy that will live on for centuries to come.

An event to celebrate the composer and his music will be held today at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta.

Pianist Gisele Grima will join Miriam Cauchi (soprano), Akos Kertesz (cello) and Nemanja Ljubinkovic (violin) in a concert that celebrates some of Debussy’s most musically insightful and poetic works. These include Préludes Premier Livre pour piano (1909-1910), Mélodies pour soprano & piano, Sonate pour Violoncelle & Piano (1915), Reflets Dans l'eau (1905), Ariettes Oublieés (1886) and Sonate pour Violon & Piano (1917).
