Suzanne Garroni, Thi Lakin School, writes:

Mrs Mifsud, as we all knew her at school, was a great lady. She was always there for us at school.

She listened to us, understood us and, above all, helped us. She disciplined the children with tender loving care and had a heart of gold.

Seeing her empty chair in the school office was heart-breaking. We were all shocked when we heard about her illness, which she fought bravely for a whole year. I will never forget last December, before we broke up for our Christmas holidays, when we, as a school, went to sing Christmas carols outside her house and she appeared, evidently moved, and asked Ms Tami whether it would be her last Christmas. Alas, she was right! We all hoped that we would see her back at school next Christmas to sing carols with us. But it was not to be.

To her husband, John, her daughter, Ms Tami and the rest of the family I convey my deep-est sympathy.

To Mrs Mifsud, I say: Till we meet again.
