Audi’s A3 Sportback (pictured) was recently named What Car? car of the year. It also won best small family car.
Ford collected four awards. The Fiesta won the supermini category, the Mondeo the best family car, the Mondeo Estate the top estate car, and the Focus ST-1 best hot hatch.
Three trophies went to BMWs. The X3 won the SUV award, the 320d ED automatic took the executive car crown and the Mini Roadster Cooper S was named best open-top car.
Suzuki’s Swift Sport kept its ‘best buy’ award in the hot hatch category. The Porsche Boxster 2.7 won Sports car of the year. The Seat Alhambra won the MPV award for the third time in a row and the Audi TT won best coupe for the seventh time.
The Range Rover was luxury car of the year and the Volkswagen Up retained its best city car title. Mazda was awarded the ultra-low-carbon award while What Car? readers and website visitors voted the Alfa Romeo 4C most exciting car of 2013.
