A five-session short course entitled Dementia Care Giving in the Community, organised by Malta University Consulting Ltd, will start on October 16. The course is designed to provide caregivers, including family members, the basic knowledge and skills to care for people with dementia at home. The lectures will be held at the University Residence, Lija. The course coordinator is Prof. Charles Scerri, who specialises in the behavioural, biochemical, neuro-pharmacological and social aspects of Alzheimer’s disease and associated dementias. He is one of the co-founders of the Malta Dementia Society and currently acts as general secretary.
