About six children with intellectual disabilities will soon be able to move into a new home that will cater for their needs in a family-like environment.

The residential home in Birżebbuġa will offer a personalised service to residents around the clock. The number and age of the residents is still being established, according to Justice Minister Chris Said.

The home, run by Aġenzija Support, is expected to be open by the new year and a therapeutic centre should be operating by the end of January.

Services offered will include play and drama therapy and the centre will also be equipped with a multi-sensory white room.
