Cardinal William Levada, Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith), last Monday visited Gozo.

Accompanied by Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna and Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca, Cardinal Levada concelebrated Mass at the chapel of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu. After Mass the cardinal signed the visitors’ book and was presented with the book A Temple to Our Lady: Ta’ Pinu Basilica by Fr Francis Saliba on behalf the sanctuary’s rector.

Later in the day, Cardinal Levada visited the Cathedral and St George’s Bsilica in Victoria, as well as the Seminary, where he was welcomed by Bishop Mario Grech and the rector Fr Daniel Xerri. He also met the seminarians and had lunch with them.
