Steve Camilleri has ended the year on top note after netting a hat-trick for Bogliasco in his team’s 13-9 win over Ellevi Nervi in midweek.

The Maltese player has thus archived a memorable year during which he was top scorer for the national team and also headed the scorers’ list in domestic competitions with over 100 goals, besides scooping the best player award.

He kept up this scoring trend in the Italian top league, so far hitting 35 goals from 15 matches and trailing the leading scorer Valerio Rizzo at the top of the rankings replete with foreign stars.

Camilleri is again his team’s top goal-getter, seven goals ahead of German Heiko Nossek.

His team is currently sixth on 16 points after playing 15 of their 22 scheduled matches on the programme. The Serie A league will resume on February 4.
