Tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens and soprano Nicola Said will join Joseph Calleja for a charity Christmas concert on December 27.

This concert, also featuring the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s choir under the direction of Gillian Zammit, will be ‘an intimate affair’ with a venue capacity of just 800 people.

All funds raised through this event will go towards the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation, set up last year to help exceptionally talented youngsters in the field of the performing arts to realise their full potential.

Mr Zammit Stevens and Ms Said have both received assistance from the foundation, which also supports children with difficult social backgrounds and those whose situations are not catered for by existing social support programmes.

Capacity of venue isjust 800 people

Joseph Calleja, who returns to Malta for the concert in the middle of a sold-out run of Un Ballo in Maschera at the Royal Opera House in London, said: “I am looking forward to the event featuring Christmas and other sacred music with the aim of raising funds for the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation.”

Seats for the concert are available against a donation of €100 each, and can be reserved through the booking website http://www.ooii.com.mt .
