CSB Group has returned from the International Bar Association’s Private Investment Funds Conference at London’s InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane, an annual gathering for top international legal, business and fund professionals.

The event was co-presented by the IBA Private Investment Funds Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Hedge Funds of the Committee on Federal Regulation of Securities Law of the American Bar Association.

Lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel, business executives at investment management firms, accountants, custodians and service providers met to analyse the current market and future of private investment funds, and the prospects of changes and updates to regulatory regimes.

CSB Group chief executive officer Michael J. Zammit, Andrew J. Zammit, managing partner of Zammit & Associates – Advocates, and CSB Group business development Josef Cardona were present.

“The feedback we received about Malta this year was increasingly more positive,” Dr Zammit said. “It is no surprise to hear that Malta was ranked 15th in the world in terms of the level of development of the financial services sectors by the World Economic Forum, which is also resulting in the further generation of quality jobs.”

Tackling issues such as current issues in private equity and hedge fund taxation and market regulation and systemic risk, the interactive conference saw an interesting mix of plenary sessions and focused workshop sessions.
