Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil defended the decision not to release the full election defeat report, saying the executive summary that has been published “is a full and faithful summary”.

“There are no additional points in the full report,” he told Times of Malta.

He said the decision to only publish the 38-page executive summary was taken by the executive committee, now headed by Ann Fenech, the same person who authored the document.

“There is only one copy of the full report, which was handed to me,” Dr Busuttil added.

When the Labour Party had conducted a similar exercise in 2008, the 99-page report had been published officially on the party’s site after its contents had been leaked to Times of Malta.

The executive summary of the PN’s report lists more than 150 reasons that contributed to the party’s heavy defeat on March 9.
