Three months of construction works on Burmarrad Road, limits of Naxxar, have left businesses exasperated, complaining that the situation had become so bad they could not even get to their properties.

The businesses, 19 in all, including two business owners, filed a judicial protest against Transport Malta because of the “disastrous” way the road had been left after works had started on it on September 1.

The businesses said the road had been in such a bad state that at times they could not get to their properties and their companies were suffering because of this.

Nothing had been done on the site for the past three weeks, they added. They demanded that the works were completed and that their rights would not be prejudiced in this way again. They also requested compensation.

Lawyer Kris Borg signed the protest.
