Most people in Rabat are mystified why Arriva has removed the Saqqajja bus terminus and reinstated it at the Roman Villa where they have put in more than three bus stops.

People who are coming down from the St Dominic area or even from other parts of Rabat have a very long walk to this new bus terminus.

Another thing that I would like to point out is that people who come up to Rabat for shopping or even to avail themselves of the cool Rabat air and who have been used to the Saqqajja bus terminus are irritated by this move.

Just before Arriva started operations a sign was put up at Saqqajja stating that this was the bus terminus and people from all walks of life were relieved especially since Rabat banks are all at Saqqajja and it has become the business area of Rabat.

What I would suggest is that the Saqqajja bus terminus be reinstated with the express direct buses to Sliema, Buġibba and Valletta as these buses all catered for the needs of Rabat villagers, especially in the rush hours.
