At Luqa, as in many other towns and villages, most bus stops are still without shelters. People have to wait for the coming bus – sometimes for a considerable time – standing up either in scorching sun or, in winter, in windy and rainy weather.

Shouldn’t the authorities concerned erect these shelters without any more delay?

Many people, especially the old, disabled and pregnant, are suffering much discomfort when waiting here for the next bus.

At least, the two popular bus stops in St Thomas Street should be seen to immediately.

On another transport issue, the previous Administration spent good EU money on many worthy roads like St Thomas and Council of Europe streets, in Luqa, and Żurrieq Road, to name three well-constructed and beautifully-built thoroughfares. But, then, there are many people scattered around the island who have been waiting for years to have the street where they live resurfaced.

In winter, they have to walk through puddles of water and, in summer, they have to endure and suffer the debris and dirt blown inside their homes on windy days.
