We have been hearing a lot about the bad service Arriva is providing to the Maltese people, especially on certain routes.

Occasionally I have to travel from Tal-Qroqq to Guardamangia. Some time ago I used to take Route 125, which was in some way satisfactory. Now this route is no more but instead there is Route 122, which covers St Luke’s area. That is fine. So I enquired which is the best connection I can take to get to my destination.

In an e-mail by one of the employees at Arriva customer service, I was told to take a Valletta-bound bus from Tal-Qroqq and stop at bus stop “Fosos” near the Granaries in Floriana. I did this last Friday but when I arrived at Floriana, there was no bus stop under the name “Fosos”. Luckily, close by, there were a number of Arriva employees so I asked them about the said bus stop and about where Route 122 stops. Amazingly none of them knew. I phoned customer service and the person on the phone knew nothing either. So he asked for my mobile phone number, to enquire with his leaders and phone back with his reply. But by that time I had taken a bus back to bus stop “Kulleġġ” at Msida and walked all the way up the hill to Guardamangia. By the way I am an old man!

I sent an e-mail to Arriva customer service, protesting strongly about the bad service I received.
