A great deal has been written by commuters in Malta criticising the route buses run by Arriva.

In Gozo, Arriva has brought an hourly bus service to all the villages, starting from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Never before did Gozo have such an extensive public transport service. In fact, being served in the past with very limited public transport, most families in Gozo sought over the years to acquire a vehicle of some sort for travel purposes. This new service is complementing what in the past had been self-reliance. The new bus route No. 233 from Marsalforn to Mġarr via Xagħra and Nadur has been an innovation and so far has been well used. It is hoped that it will continue throughout the winter months and for much longer.
