Buckingham Palace is the UK landmark most visited by Britons, according to a survey.

The Queen’s London residence pipped the Houses of Parliament to being the top British landmark, the poll by www.travelsupermarket.com found.

Third was the Tower of London, followed by Blackpool Tower, St Paul’s Cathedral and Edinburgh Castle.

Top overseas landmark for Britons is the Eiffel Tower in Paris followed by St Mark’s Square in Venice, the Colosseum in Rome and the Empire State Building in New York.

The most-visited landmarks in the UK by Britons are the following:
