Monterrey: Monterrey pum-ped in four second-half goals to defeat Santos 4-2 and claim their third straight CONCACAF Champions League title on Wednesday. After last week’s scoreless draw at Santos, both Mexican teams unleashed offense and Monterrey rallied to overcome a 2-0 deficit to become the first team to win three consecutive CONCACAF club titles since Cruz Azul (1969-71).

Auction: An FA Cup final programme dating back to 1882 could fetch up to £25,000 when it goes up for sale at auction. The programme, found in a box of papers and scrapbooks bought as a job lot at an auction, looks forward to the final between the Old Etonians and Blackburn Rovers at the Kennington Oval on March 25 1882. The site is now Surrey’s County Cricket Ground. The document, with an estimate of £20,000-£25,000, goes on sale at Sotheby’s in central London on May 14.

Figueroa: Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury. The FA Cup finalists had feared the worst after the Honduras international was carried off on a stretcher during the draw with Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend. The 30-year-old will now miss relegation-threatened Wigan’s vital last four Premier League games as well as the cup final against Manchester City.

Green: Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green has been fined 2,500 pounds by a Scottish FA tribunal for bringing the game into disrepute by making “comments of an offensive and racist nature” The SFA said in a statement that Green had breached disciplinary rules by making the comments in an inter-view during his time at the club.
