One of the men charged with bribing the late judge Ray Pace has again been allowed to leave the country for a trip related to his work in Europe.

Raymond Caruana, a 51-year-old truck driver from Żebbuġ, was authorised by Magistrate Edwina Grima to retrieve his passport from the acts of the proceedings where must deposit it again upon his return.

He had already been allowed to travel abroad in early May.

Mr Caruana, together with 40-year-old restaurateur Sandro Psaila from Valletta but who resides in Manikata, are charged with complicity to bribe the late judge.

The court heard yesterday that Mr Psaila had purchased a Mitsubishi Pajero and paid a €2,000 deposit.

But, because his assets were frozen due to the court case, he could not make any pay-ments and so decided through the courts to return the vehicle to its owners.
