A Serbian man who went to court to support a friend arraigned after a Paceville brawl ended up in the dock when a victim accused him as well.

The victim, who was waiting to testify, spotted Boris Dodek, 23, from St Paul’s Bay, and alleged he was one of the aggressors in the May 2 incident.

He was arrested, questioned at the police depot in Floriana and taken back to court later to be charged over his alleged involvement.

The accused pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Clayton Grech, slightly injuring Mario Farrugia and Ingrid Galea, taking part in a fight at about 3am and disturbing the peace.

Mr Dodek’s lawyer, Arthur Azzopardi, requested bail and asked the court to bear in mind his client was unemployed. Magistrate Audrey Demicoli granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
