TV presenter Lou Bondi is among the members of a new Government-appointed Maltese National Festivities Foundation announced yesterday.

It will organise and coordinate national festivities, including the 50th anniversary of Independence, the 40th anniversary of the Republic, the 35th anniversary of Freedom Day and 10 years of EU accession, all of which are celebrated next year.

Oliver Friggieri, a professor of Maltese, is chairman. The other members are Albert Marshall, Simone Mizzi, Philip Farrugia Randon, John Zarb, Jason Busuttil, Lino Farrugia, Andrea Cassar, Gianni Zammit, Ray Mangion and Mario Farrugia Borg.
