Kilimanjaro Challenge 10 (KC10) is made up of a group of 20 individuals from all walks of life who in January 2017 will venture up the slopes of the highest free-standing mountain in Africa – Kilimanjaro – in the hope of making it to the summit and at the same time raising funds for a worthy cause.

The previous nine expeditions up the mountain were very successful, both in terms of mountaineering as well as fundraising prowess. To quantify, over the past 10 years, in excess of €590,000 have so far been collected and invested in the construction of schools, kindergartens and clinics in Kenya and Ethiopia. These projects are undertaken by the Moviment Missjunarju Ġesù fil-Proxxmu.

This time round, the KC10 expedition is aiming to collect €65,000 to finance the construction of another kindergarten school and a flour mill in Jemu area, Ethiopia.

Various fundraising events are held throughout the year to collect the donations required to finance the project.

The next event is the KC10 Boat Party for Charity being held on Sunday. It will be a fun day out at sea, while helping KC10 raise funds for a noble cause.

Tickets at €25 may be obtained from Daniel Sammut on 9947 6121 or by sending him an e-mail to dsammut04@gmail.com
