Just as tartan print originally represented the clan to which the wearer belonged, Blanco has now recovered that feeling of belonging and transformed it into a strong commitment to a return to its roots and characteristic rebel spirit.

The brand enters an exciting new phase with collections that combine an edgy British punk aesthetic with the brand's classic Spanish heritage.

Newly appointed creative director Amy Molyneaux’s first collection – the Tartan Collection – is a youthful and dynamic range of colourful plaid in red, blue and black and white, delicately complemented with white blouses, poplin dresses, gauze tops adorned with velvet and the softness of Aran wool – details that marry Molynaux’s own punk British style with classic Spanish refinement.

The lines of the dresses, skirts and blazers have an ultra-feminine and lady-like cut, which reveal their underground side when combined with key elements, such as those featured in the leather collection – which will be found in stores from the beginning of December.

As the co-founder of London label PPQ, Molyneaux has dressed everyone, from Rihanna to Amy Winehouse, Adele and Alexa Chung.

Outside of her own label, she has designed for Fred Perry, Adidas Originals and directed campaigns shot by photographer Rankin.

She has collaborated with the likes of Manolo Blahnik, Nobu, Stephen Webster and Topshop and brings bespoke experience to Blanco at a commercial level to produce a unique high-street look, creating affordable luxury through creative use of print, cut and fabric.

Suiteblanco is represented in Malta by Arkadia Marketing Ltd, a subsidiary of the Mizzi organisation. Suiteblanco stores can be found at The Plaza in Sliema and Arkadia in Victoria.
