Birkirkara conceded a third upset in the women’s Champions League qualifying group as they lost to Northern Ireland’s Glentoran 3-1 at the National Stadium yesterday.

The Malta champions finished with no points from three matches as the tournament came to a close with Romania’s Olimpia Cluj securing their place in the next round following a 4-1 win over Dezembro, of Portugal, at the Centenary Stadium.

Kirsty Feasey scored a consolation goal for Birkirkara two minutes into stoppage time.

Final standings: Olimpija Cluj 9; Dezembro 6; Glentoran 3; Birkirkara 0.
