I was bemused by Ray Zammit’s letter that seemed to be an attack on me rather than anything else.
To me, his discourteous address is simply shameful.
I will never support bird killing anywhere; it’s just that in Malta it is so noticeable.
These people only use attack as defence but because they defend it so vociferously one has to consider the birds, which have no defence against his friends.
There are people who love to see birds in their natural habitat, not sprawled in a heap of feathers in a field or by the side of a road.
Saying it happens elsewhere cannot be a defence under any circumstances, just a sad indictment of Zammit’s inability to move on.
His selfish removal of birds is matched only by his arrogance in assuming that he is right and that it’s OK to kill them.
I hope he has an answer for when he meets his and the birds’ Maker.
