Maurice Mizzi (The Sunday Times, August 7) totally ignored the question about whether legal hunting should be abolished and instead made a mountain out of a molehill about whether birds are animals or not.
He went on to mention the times of the dinosaurs. Granted, birds are animals, but my ignorance does not make me mix a turtledove with a lion. It does not even make me that stupid to take aim at a protected bird.
I am totally against illegal hunting and I am prepared to join Mr Mizzi in any street protest in this respect. However, no protest against legal hunting will ever achieve any form of credibility because this is an ongoing sport around the world no matter how much Mr Mizzi is against it. The fact that the early shots annoy him in his Bidnija dwelling does not justify the protest against legal hunting.
Of course, one has every right to protest, but it does not get one anywhere as long as laws are not broken.
