A St Julian’s restaurant owner has called on the Tourism Minister and the Police Commissioner not to have a repeat of previous years where a large screen was set up in Tiguglio car park (as can be seen in this photo dating back to June 2012 for the Euro Cup). Peter Darmanin, owner of San Giuliani Restaurant, said the screen created havoc and furore among residents and restaurant owners of this “picturesque and tranquil bay”. He added that the mega screen only served as a magnet for “lager louts and thugs”, and would drive the quality tourists and local patrons away from the area in the peak season.
