Match-Day four from the English Premier League brings up the most awaited derby on the calendar this season as Manchester United clash with Manchester City at Old Trafford this afternoon with both sides on top of the standings after three wins from as many matches.

United captain Wayne Rooney still believes he is suited to play in midfield for his national team even though Red Devils’ boss Jose Mourinho wants the 30-year-old to keep playing up front.

Rooney equalled David Beckham’s record of 115 caps in England’s humiliating Euro 2016 exit to Iceland this summer and surpassed the former England captain’s tally when he started against Slovakia in last week’s World Cup qualifier.

Today, Pep Guardiola and Mourinho will be looking to take an early psychological edge in the race for the Premier League title.

City striker Sergio Aguero will miss the derby as he starts a three-game suspension for an incident involving Winston Reid against West Ham last month.

Guardiola decided to leave Yaya Toure out of Manchester City’s squad for the Champions League group stages but the Ivory Coast strongman will not leave the Etihad according to his agent.

Chelsea, the only other side with maximum points in the league, travel to Wales tomorrow to play guests to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Defender David Luiz is back at Chelsea after leaving Paris St Germain. His former team-mate, Michael Essien, took to Instagram to welcome the Brazilian back at Stamford Bridge, as the centre-half completed his sensational return on transfer deadline day, last month.

Champions Leicester City are at Liverpool this evening with striker Jamie Vardy saying there was no contest between heart and head when it came to the “easy decision” of turning down Arsenal’s offer over the summer.

Liverpool have made special arrangements to rush Philippe Coutinho back from international duty in Brazil so he can be involved against the Foxes as the Reds will play for the first time at Anfield this season following refurbishment works at the new Main Stand.

Ground capacity will now go up to over 54,000. Today, Liverpool are expected to record the biggest attendance for a home game in more than 39 years.

Arsenal play Southampton at home with latest additions, defender Shkodran Mustafi and striker Lucas Perez, in line for their debut.

Ryan Bertrand could be back in contention for the Saints today.

The left-back has missed the opening three games of the season due to a knee problem. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who has had an arm injury, is also back in the reckoning for Southampton.

Tottenham take a trip to the Midlands to play guests to Stoke and at the London Stadium West Ham United clash against Watford.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is set to include fit-again Dimitri Payet and new signing Simone Zaza into the starting line-up against Watford.

France star Payet has made just one substitute appearance for West Ham this season due to a thigh niggle but is now fully fit, and he should be joined in the team by Italy striker Zaza.
