Teen idol Justin Bieber has taken a paternity test to prove he did not father a child with 20-year-old Mariah Yeater.

And she is ready to have her baby DNA tested as well.

“It’s pretty crazy,”17-year-old Mr Bieber told an American TV station.

“ People make up false accusations. It’s gonna happen, being in the spotlight.”

CBS Late Show host David Letterman empathised with Mr Bieber, saying he “saw red” when he read about the accusations by MsYeater, adding: “I could smell a weasel.”

“I can smell a weasel, too,” replied Mr Bieber. He told Mr Letterman that he had taken a DNA test to prove he hadn’t fathered a child with her, adding that it involved doctors taking a swab sample from his mouth.

“Was there disrobing?” Mr Letterman asked jokingly, to which Mr Bieber, initially perplexed, replied: “No, no, I don’t think so!”

Ms Yeater, who gave birth to a baby boy in July, claimed that she and Mr Bieber met backstage at a concert in October last year in Los Angeles, where they had sexual relations that left her pregnant.
