Justin Bieber’s former neighbour is suing the pop singer for assault and battery, claiming he spat on him during a discussion nearly two years ago.

Jeffrey Schwartz and his wife, Suzanne, are suing Bieber in Los Angeles Superior Court for unspecified damages in excess of $25,000.

The lawsuit claims Bieber spat in Schwartz’s face during a dispute over the singer driving too fast in their Calabasas neighbourhood.

Bieber moved out of the area after throwing eggs at the couple’s home, causing roughly $80,000 damage.

The 21-year-old remains on probation after being charged with vandalism. He has repaid the family restitution for the damage he caused to their home. The couple also claims Bieber caused them emotional distress because of loud parties and dangerous driving.

Bieber’s publicist, Melissa Victor, was not available for comment.
