Bidders for the Marsa shipbuilding maritime hub project will not be named until they are shortlisted.

A spokesman for Economy Minister Chris Cardona said the names would only be disclosed once the shortlisting process was concluded.

Twenty-eight companies responded to the Government’s international call for expressions of interest to transform 175,000 square metres of land into a maritime hub.

“The next step will be the appointment of an evaluating and adjudicating committee,” Dr Cardona’s spokesman told Times of Malta.
