Maltese judoka Jeremy Saywell (left) recently took part in a tournament in Bergamo, Italy – the Sankaku International Trophy which was contested by around 1,100 judokas. Saywell did well in the 66kg category as he reached the final following a string of impressive wins. However, Matteo Medves proved too strong in the end as the Italian won the decisive bout with a Harai Goshi (hip-throwing technique). The silver medal was the best result ever for a Maltese judoka at the tourament in Bergamo.
