You were a man in a million, never letting your terminal illness get you down. You went about life as normally as possible together with your daughter Therese.
Lest readers jump to the wrong conclusion, you had other children you deeply loved as well as a wife who doted on you. But your relationship with Therese was like no other. You laughed and even cried at the same things. You were alike as two peas in a pod. It was Therese who brought you to hospital when you had an appointment and it was Therese you turned to when certain test results turned out to be not so good.
Even in hospital you joked with the staff as if the illness you suffered from was not yours but someone else’s. We always joked because that is the way you were, always smiling, always ready to tell a joke even though the pain was excruciating at times. That was our Benjamin, otherwise known as Benny. We shall certainly miss you and your smile my friend, and may the good Lord allow your trip to Heaven to be a short one.
