Twenty-two shooters took part in the first .22LR Bench Rest competition which has hosted recently by the On Target Shooting Club at the new ranges in Magħtab.

The competition was split in two categories – International Sporter and Light Varmint.

In International Sporter, Mark Cassar, 233+4, topped the leaderboard ahead of Pierre Vella, 217+3, and James Bugeja 193+1.

In Light Varmint, shooters made full use of scopes and heavy-barrel rifles. Patrick Azzopardi started with a 207 in the first round. He was fol-lowed by Josef Gatt on 203.

Lucas Micallef returned the best score in the second round.

His 212+3 was good enough for him to finish ahead of Azzopardi and Gatt.
