To mark the 10th anniversary of the Bay Music Awards, this year’s event will feature some of the very best in local talent along with many surprises, among them special live performances by top Maltese acts Winter Moods, Red Electrick, Ira Losco, Airport Impres­sions and Christabelle.

89.7 Bay DJs Dorian Cassar and Nathan D will compere the show to bring an extra dose of energy to it all.

Bringing music and fashion to gether, Carina Camilleri (models. com. mt) will be putting together a fashion show – including 11 new models chosen from the 89.7 Bay Model Search – just before the awards.

Regular event tickets cost €10, premium front section tickets cost €15, while a limited number of VIP tickets (including open bar and canapés) are available at €30 each.

The BMAs will also include a Teen Area for those aged 14 to 17, which will serve non-alcoholic beverages. Teen tickets are available from the Eden Cinemas box office for €10.

The awards will be aired on One TV for the first time, at 3pm on Christmas Day with a repeat on Easter Sunday.

Voting for the Viewer’s Choice Award (SMS 5061 5305) will open during the first screening of the BMAs, and end at midnight on January 5. The winner will be announced on January 13 on Dorian’s breakfast show.

Meanwhile, the nominees for the various award categories have been announced, with a unique SMS number for each award.

The public is invited to vote by texting their choice of artist or band to the specified number via SMS. Voting ends at midnight on December 15.

There is a strict limit of three votes per category from each mobile number, and voters will get the chance to win dinner for two at Waterbiscuit in St Julian’s.

The Bay Music Awards will be held on December 21 at the Bay Arena, St Julian’s. Tickets can be bought online.
