Not for the first time, a song by local indie pop band Bark Bark Disco has been championed by none other than BBC 6’s Tom Robinson. Let’s Do This, the title track from the Maltese band’s latest release, was featured during the June 18 edition of the popular Tom Robinson Introducing weekly radio show.

Besides featuring Bark Bark Disco’s song in his hour-long mixtape, which is also downloadable for free for a limited period (there’s a couple more weeks to go before the podcast is taken off the website), Robinson also mentions the band in an accompanying blog highlighting his weekly batch of favourite new music.

“Bark Bark Disco is a low-fi pop band fronted by former inventor Morris Woodcock,” Robinson wrote in his blog, elsewhere adding that “the songs of Bark Bark Disco aim to create a raw and low-fi immediacy with catchiness befitting a Broadway musical”.

British DJ Tom Robinson is a successful singer songwriter who scored his first UK chart hit with 2-4-6-8 Motorway back in 1977. In the past, he has featured another song from Bark Bark Disco as well as a track from possibly Malta’s best-ever indie pop act Beangrowers on his radio show.

Bark Bark Disco’s Let’s Do This EP as well as acclaimed debut album Your Mum Says Hello are both available for free from the band’s website.
