British international high-performance coach James Barclay is presently in Malta conducting a seven-day training camp.

Organised by Badminton Malta in conjunction with the Confederation of Mediterranean Badminton and the support of Badminton Europe, the training course is primarily intended for the Junior Academy players and their respective coaches.

The training sessions are being held on a daily basis; each session lasts from one-and-a-half to two hours. Sessions are alternating between the Cottonera and Kirkop Sports Complex as well as St Martin’s (Swatar) and St Aloysius Colleges (Birkirkara).

During the training course, Barclay is focusing particularly on footwork and match tactics.

He will also be visiting local schools to promote badminton as well as to assist PE teachers.

Badminton Malta expressed its satisfaction at the high level of training that Barclay is giving to all participants.

It stressed its constant commitment to continue providing players and coaches with future similar opportunities for the further development of their standards.

BM also expressed its gratitude to COMEBA as well as Badminton Europe for the valuable support provided in the organisation of this training camp.
