Five Premier League players were handed a one-match suspension by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday.
Balzan will be without midfielder Anderson de Barros for the top-of-the-table clash against Hibernians on April 2.
The Brazilian midfielder was sanctioned after he received a red card during his team’s 1-0 defeat to Valletta last week.
Andre Scicluna, of Floriana, has been ruled out of the derby against neighbouring rivals Valletta, also scheduled for April 2.
The Greens wing back was punished after he received his fourth booking during Floriana’s 1-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows last Saturday.
Sliema winger Frank Temile was also banned for one match for picking up four bookings.
The Nigerian will miss the Wanderers’ next Premier League match against St Andrews.
Gżira coach Darren Abdilla and Mosta assistant coach Johann Scicluna were handed a one-match touchline ban following their altercation during last week’s Premier League match.
The Maroons will also be without midfielder Zachary Scerri for their next match against Pembroke Athleta.
Mosta, on their part, will have to do without Pedrinho for their clash against Birkirkara.
The Brazilian was suspended for four yellow cards.
