Roderick Bajada is set to continue his season with Valletta after the Sliema Wanderers midfielder yes-terday agreed to join the Citizens on a short-term loan deal.
Bajada, one of Sliema’s best performers this season, received the green light from the Blues’ hierarchy to discuss personal terms with Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha after the two clubs reached an agreement over his loan switch.
As Bajada’s contract with Sliema was due to run out at the end of the season, the midfielder is likely to be offered a permanent deal by the champions if he impresses during his loan spell.
Ironically, Bajada, 29, made his final appearance for Sliema in Saturday’s goalless draw against Valletta.
The Citizens were keen to strengthen their core of Maltese players after having sanctioned the loan departures of Ryan Fenech (Sliema), Dyson Falzon (Mosta) and Jamie Pace (Balzan Youths) this month.
Meanwhile, Patrice Feussi, a 27-year-old flank defender from Cameroon, is expected to join Valletta for a trial today.
Feussi started his professional career with Genoa and last played for Swiss side Lugano.
