A woman charged with trafficking drugs into prison was granted bail yesterday after spending almost two weeks behind bars in custody.

Sabrina Caruana, 30, of Qormi, pleaded not guilty to taking 36 grams of drugs into prison for her boyfriend by concealing them in her private parts on three separate occasions.

Witnesses were heard behind closed doors. Magistrate Edwina Grima granted Ms Caruana bail against a personal guarantee of €8,000 and a deposit of €1,000.The case continues.
